Founded by engineering alumni with deep roots in fraternal organizations at The Ohio State University, SAF is committed to advancing education and opportunity for the next generation.

Our Mission

Advancing Education for OSU Engineers

The Sigma Alumni Foundation (SAF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing education at The Ohio State University. We provide affordable housing, academic support, and leadership development for engineering students.

SAF was founded by engineering alumni with roots in student fraternal organizations. The organization focuses on reducing financial barriers to higher education, fostering meaningful alumni-student relationships, and supporting environments that promote academic excellence and leadership growth.

We are proud to have served OSU engineering students for over 100 years — and our work continues through our ongoing campaign to secure permanent housing for the Theta Tau Sigma Chapter.

The Sigma Alumni Society (SAS)

The Sigma Alumni Society (SAS) is a separate 501(c)(7) social organization that manages alumni activities and events outside of charitable operations. While SAF focuses on charitable giving — housing, mentorship, and education — SAS handles alumni social events, networking, and community-building.

Together, SAF and SAS serve the broader Sigma alumni community at Ohio State, each playing a distinct and complementary role.
