
What is SAF?
Sigma Alumni Foundation (SAF) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing education at The Ohio State University. SAF provides affordable housing, academic support, and leadership development for students—particularly those pursuing engineering degrees and participating in academically aligned, engineering-based student organizations rooted in shared values of mentorship, scholarship, and community.

Founded by engineering alumni with roots in student fraternal organizations, SAF is built on a tradition of peer support and lifelong connection. Our work reduces financial barriers to higher education, fosters meaningful alumni-student relationships, and supports environments that promote academic excellence and leadership growth.
SAF bridges the gap between generations of engineering leaders—building a legacy of education, mentorship, housing, and community rooted in the values of service, scholarship, and lifelong connection.
